Description Horst H. von Brand 2011-10-13 15:00:34 UTC
Description of problem:
I suspected a SELinux labeling problem, so I touched /.autorelabel and rebooted. But now the screen is black (only a underline cursor at the upper left). If it wasn't for occasional HDD activity and the CapsBlock LED I'd think the machine is hung.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
I really don't know who to blame. Rawhide, up to date.

Did it complete. If you disable plymouth do you see output?

Comment 2 Horst H. von Brand 2011-10-13 17:34:50 UTC
It completed.

I started the reboot normally and (knowing that it would take some time) left. When I returned some 10-15 minutes later, what I saw is as stated. I really don't know if plymouth started, when it rebooted at the end the splash screen did show up as expected for a normal boot.

Well I tried this out and I saw the output
