I suppose the result is that ypbind is not updated. Are you able to reproduce the error (unfortunately I'm not)? What version of rpm and yum do you have installed? I see no problems today. $ rpm -q ypbind rpm yum ypbind-1.33-7.fc16.x86_64 rpm-4.9.1.2-1.fc16.x86_64 yum-3.4.3-5.fc16.noarch $ su # yum erase ypbind Loaded plugins: langpacks, presto, refresh-packagekit Setting up Remove Process Resolving Dependencies --> Running transaction check ---> Package ypbind.x86_64 3:1.33-7.fc16 will be erased --> Processing Dependency: ypbind for package: yp-tools-2.12-6.fc16.x86_64 --> Running transaction check ---> Package yp-tools.x86_64 0:2.12-6.fc16 will be erased --> Finished Dependency Resolution Dependencies Resolved ======================================================================================= Package Arch Version Repository Size ======================================================================================= Removing: ypbind x86_64 3:1.33-7.fc16 @fedora 94 k Removing for dependencies: yp-tools x86_64 2.12-6.fc16 @anaconda-0 181 k Transaction Summary ======================================================================================= Remove 2 Packages Installed size: 275 k Is this ok [y/N]: y Downloading Packages: Running Transaction Check Running Transaction Test Transaction Test Succeeded Running Transaction Erasing : yp-tools-2.12-6.fc16.x86_64 1/2 Erasing : 3:ypbind-1.33-7.fc16.x86_64 2/2 Removed: ypbind.x86_64 3:1.33-7.fc16 Dependency Removed: yp-tools.x86_64 0:2.12-6.fc16 Complete!
