Description Kevin 2011-10-16 02:06:29 UTC
Description of problem:

Having installed Gnu Emacs using 'yum install emacs' the icons which appear in the applications section of gnome shell are not the normal Emacs icons. They appear to fall back to generic application icons.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Name : emacs
Arch : x86_64
Epoch : 1
Version : 23.3
Release : 7.fc16

How reproducible:
I have tried 'yum reinstall emacs' and on one occasion, the icons appeared normal following the reinstall. However, after building another Fedora system, the problem occurred and 'yum reinstall emacs' did not fix it. The behavior appears to be inconsistent.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. install emacs
2. look at icon in gnome shell

Actual results:
Icon appears to be generic application icon.

Expected results:
Icon should be Emacs "E" icon.

Thank you for the report. It seems to be a flaw in gnome-shell, as similar problem appeared with other application.
