grub1 and grub2
according to Fedora 16 Beta release creterias article 9. The installer must be able to successfully complete an upgrade installation from a clean, fully updated default installation (from any official install medium) of the previous stable Fedora release, either via preupgrade or by booting to the installer manually. The upgraded system must meet all release criteria This should be a Beta Blocker (In reply to comment #0) > Steps to Reproduce: > 1. install f15 > 2. upgrade f15 to f16 from DVD > 3. choose skip bootloader updating See step 3 just above. You told the installer to not modify your bootloader configuration, yet you have upgraded the operating system. This requires you to manually update your own bootloader configuration. Yes. This is how 'skip bootloader' is meant to work. Note the text of the test case reads: Expected Results 1. The system should be upgraded to Fedora 16 version without error 2. The previous bootloader configuration should be left completely untouched, even if it is now invalid (unbootable) 3. After any necessary manual bootloader re-configuration to render the system bootable again, it should boot and work without problems Note, especially, point #2. Your result is a pass, not a fail. |
