Description Jeremy West 2011-10-18 20:44:51 UTC
Since making the decision to default the severity and priority fields to "unspecified", GSS is seeing a large proportion of bz being created without these fields set properly. The reason these aren't getting set by the GSS associates who file them, is because the priority field isn't shown in the current default fields for the simplified view. This results in customer/GSS bugs that are not properly prioritized, miss getting correct attention, and which ultimately decrease Red Hat's value for "responsiveness" in the customer market.

The proposal here is to make the advanced fields be the default for any @redhat.com BZ user/reporter.

The show/hide advanced field preference is preserved by the 'TUI' cookie. The user only needs to select the 'Show advanced fields' once to see all the fields, and this setting will be remembered.

I don't see making this change will be of benefit to the major of @redhat.com Bugzilla users, and that the above information should help those that want to see Advanced Fields by default.
