Description Uri Lublin 2011-10-19 13:20:14 UTC
This bug is for spice-xpi, cloned from the bug for spice-client.

Let users of spice-xpi (such as RHEV-M) set WAN options.

+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #747312 +++

Description of problem:
WAN options such as --disable-effects and --color-depth are supported by spice-client but only when running spicec from command line.

This bug is for enabling the controller (such as spice-x or spice-xpi) to set those WAN options.

Comment 6 Peter Hatina 2012-02-20 14:19:33 UTC
In current state, spice-xpi launches spicec and passes all the necessary options via unix-socket. There is no way, how to pass any other option via command line to spicec.

Example:
$ spicec --controller -h localhost -p 3001
spicec: controller cannot be combined with other options

I suggest to open new bugs for spice-client and spice-protocol to implement those 2 options (disable-effects and color-depth).

Comment 7 David Blechter 2012-02-29 13:51:15 UTC
Moving to 6.4 due to the missing definitions from rhevm PM.

Comment 10 Yonit Halperin 2012-03-22 14:35:32 UTC
Updating requirements:

The user portal will be able to set the following
(1) WanColorDepth = string that can be "16" or "32"
(2) WanDisableEffects = comma separated string that contains one or more of the options {animation, wallpaper,font-smooth} or alternatively "all".

spice-protocol/contreller_prot and spice-gtk's controller must be updated to support those options.

Moving back to 6.3 (?)

Comment 11 David Blechter 2012-03-23 17:22:45 UTC
to support rhevm 3.1 functionality -> back to 6.3 with exception, not beta blocker
