Hello,
lxdm seems to not work with amd catalyst driver. I solve the problem removing the line arg=/usr/bin/X -background vt1 under [server] in /etc/lxdm/lxdm.conf.

Reproducible: Always

Here is /var/log/lxdm.log :

catalyst driver is from rpmfusion-nonfree-updates.

Nom : xorg-x11-drv-catalyst

Comment 2 Christoph Wickert 2011-10-30 00:43:35 UTC
Can you start X?

Comment 3 Laurent Sohier 2011-11-05 13:57:52 UTC
No, I can't.
In runlevel 5 because "Server is already active for display 0".

And when I try in runlevel 3 with "-background vt1" arguments, X crashes with this message :

 for help.
Please also check the log file at "/var/log/Xorg.0.log" for additional information.

Note that LXDM works by removing the arg "-background vt1" in lxdm.conf.

Comment 4 Christoph Wickert 2012-02-29 06:29:44 UTC
Please attach /var/log/Xorg.0.log

Comment 5 Christoph Wickert 2012-03-22 10:26:03 UTC
The vt1 argument is required, otherwise the display manager will start on vt7 but the focus remains on vt1 where people will just see a blinking cursor.

Please try different command line arguments in lxdm.conf:
- "vt1"
- "-background none vt1"

Comment 6 Christoph Wickert 2012-06-10 19:06:18 UTC
This should be fixed with the update to 0.4.1, please reopen if not.
