Description of problem:

When <Enter> key is pressed in mousepad, nothing changes in the WYSIWYG display, however the key is not really ignored and line break is added to the text.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch mousepad.
2. Type in [A], [Enter], [B] (that is, press-and-release the designated keys on the keyboard, one after another).
  
Actual results:

String "ab" is displayed in the text edit area.

Expected results:

Two letters, "a" then "b", are displayed on different lines.

Additional info:

The editor seems to not totally ignore line breaks, it just doesn't display them in a correct and consistent way. If you press Alt+Tab, the text in the editor changes immediately, reflecting all the linebreaks entered. If you save your changes, the linebreaks will be present in the text. However, if you type a,enter,b then the resulting text will be "ab\n", not "a\nb".

Sadly, mousepad is not supported very well upstream anymore. We have moved away from it in Fedora Xfce as well. 

Can you try leafpad and see if it meets your needs?
