Description Filip Skola 2011-10-25 13:54:05 UTC
Description of problem:
When you install Fedora from DVD/netinst, you can choose one of the automatic partitioning options such as "use all space", "replace existing systems" and so on. If you tick "review and mofify partition layout" before clicking "next", you're allowed to modify partitions even if default partitioning allocates less than 2325 MB for / part.

If you install from live CD, you have no chance to resize partition in this way. Automatic partitioning prints an error about low disk space for root partition before custom modifications. Therefore you have no chance to shrink default-sized swap and you have to use "create custom layout" option.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Fedora-16-TC2-x86_64-Live-Desktop

How reproducible: always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. boot live fedora on machine with disk space < 6 GB
2. choose instalation to disk, some automatic partitioning option
3. tick 'review and modify partition layout', click 'next'

Actual results:
"Low disk space for / partition" error is printed.

Expected results:
You can modify your partitions. Eg. shrink swap, enlarge root.

In light of the UI rework getting done, the current code is unlikely to get fixed up since we'd just be throwing it away anyway.

Live installs now support partitioning the same as regular installs.
