libICE does not create unique socket paths in /tmp/.ICE-unix/ basing it on the PID, combined with Fedora's default policy of not wiping /tmp results in increasing probability of libICE picking an existing path for the socket. This results in Gnome to fail to login. 

There is an existing bug here (http://groups.google.com/group/linux.debian.bugs.dist/browse_thread/thread/080207c6b356ca19/c369a2bc61ee7cec?show_docid=c369a2bc61ee7cec&pli=1) but there is an extra dimension for Fedora as /tmp is not cleared by default.

This message is a notice that Fedora 15 is now at end of life. Fedora
has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 15. It is
