Created attachment 530303 [details]
lspci output from the machine on which the problem occured

Description of problem:

Suspending using pm-suspend works well, pressing the power button results in machine powering up but system doesn't recover

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
kernel-2.6.32-211.el6.x86_64

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. pm-suspend on a machine with the graphics card (further details in attachment lspci)
2. press power button

Actual results:
The machine powers on, but the system is completely unresponsive -- sshd does not recover, last message in pm-suspend.log is performing suspend, and running pm-suspend && [whatevercommand] doesn't execute it either.

Expected results:

System resumes and is responsive...
