Description Trever Adams 2011-10-28 19:14:20 UTC
Description of problem:
Bug #471727 is a bug that used to exist. I would really like to use oslec. In the bug mentioned it was said that if it won't destabilize the kernel, it would be included. If it is a module, only those who really want to run it will ever use it as dahdi does not by default, but can.

Please, at least include the echo.c file so people can build it in a Fedora kernel. I do not mind doing this work if it is necessary.

Thank you.

Comment 1 Josh Boyer 2011-10-28 19:21:38 UTC
The file is already included in the kernel in the staging/echo/ directory.

However, we have a policy of not enabling staging drivers in the Fedora kernel as they are not of sufficient quality to be considered mainline yet. I'll move this bug to rawhide, where it can sit until the driver moves out of staging and into mainline.

Moving to ASSIGNED so it doesn't keep showing up as new.

The driver is still in staging, but it hasn't gotten any meaningful commits in about 2 years...

Comment 3 Josh Boyer 2015-04-21 13:05:14 UTC
So a year ago this was moved out of staging into the proper kernel. We failed to notice this, but I'll enable the module in rawhide today.

Should be in the next rawhide build done (4.1.0-0.rc0.git11 or later).
