Description Philip Prindeville 2011-10-29 22:19:37 UTC
Description of problem:

I upgraded from F14 to F15, and had a ifcfg-eth0.1 interface configuration, but this is ignored by NetworkManager.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

NetworkManager-0.9.1.90-3.git20110927.fc17.x86_64

How reproducible:

Configure (manually) a VLAN connection on eth0. It will be ignored.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Actual results:

Configuration is ignored and starting NetworkManager does not bring up the interface.

Expected results:

Support for VLAN's as was the case with the old "network" initscript.

Additional info:

VLAN's are heavily used in data-center and enterprise environments.

NM upstream now has VLAN support and this support is also included in F17 nightly builds already. Fixed in NM 0.9.3.995 and later.
