I just wanted to add that I am having the exact same problem. The background of GMD login is a checked version of the desktop wallpaper of any of the users - after they log out. I have an nvidia GeForce 8400 GS and I am using the nouveau. I think there are a lot of people having troubles with the nouveau and Fedora 16. I am seeing this now on ASUS EEE PC 1201N with NVIDIA GeForce 9400M. gdm-3.2.1.1-8.fc16.i686 xorg-x11-drv-nouveau-0.0.16-27.20110720gitb806e3f.fc16.i686 mesa-libGL-7.11.2-1.fc16.i686 Should category be nouveau? mesa-libGL? This message is a reminder that Fedora 16 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 16. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '16'. Steps to Reproduce: Log out and log in to see the login interface Actual results: Background is messed up. Expected results: Background should come up normally.
