Forgot to mention that I'm using last, w, and who. the question of whether utmp/wtmp should be updated for a terminal window is a long held and historic argument. This behaviour is considered by some a bug, by others not. *** Bug 7543 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** But should there not be at least a single entry for the X session ? There is obviously someone logged in, but w/last/who suggests that there isn't anyone. |
