Description of problem:

Hitting "Contacts" icon in Search and Launch Activity, doesn't bring up anything

1. Boot LiveCD
2. Click Activities, Search & Launch, [the relevant category], Contacts
  
Actual results:

Application shortcut icons disappear.
Nothing else happens.

Expected results:

KaddressBook opens ?

Not sure if this was fixed in intermediate KDE Live releases.
But in F18 alpha TC5/6 :
- there are no default activities
- KAddressBook launches well
