Which version of python-slip is installed on your system? Did you install freshly, or is this an update from an earlier Fedora version? Brand new installation. Wiped out the previous version entirely. Here's the RPM info for python-slip Name : python-slip Version : 0.2.17 Release : 1.fc16 Architecture: noarch Size : 27332 Packager : Fedora Project Group : System Environment/Libraries URL : http://fedorahosted.org/python-slip Repository : fedora Package: system-config-services-0.101.7-1.fc16 Architecture: i686 OS Release: Fedora release 16 (Verne) Comment ----- It happens everytime when I launch items from administrative menu (system-configs) Package: system-config-services-0.101.7-1.fc15 Architecture: i686 OS Release: Fedora release 15 (Lovelock) Comment ----- Well there was a python update and updated as usual. Completed updates sucesssfully and wanted to configure a couples services. Went to terminal, logged in a root and entered system-config-services showed up a garble of weird characters, went to GUI and click on Services and SE troubleshooted to a crash. Which command did you use to get the above information? Both "rpm -qi python-slip" and "yum info python-slip" have a different output format. I assume that this exact error only happens with 0.2.19 as I know what piece of code broke things this way... Closing as this only happens with this testing version which I've now withdrawn. (In reply to comment #2) > Brand new installation. Wiped out the previous version entirely. > > Here's the RPM info for python-slip > > Name : python-slip > Version : 0.2.17 I'm sure this is a different problem, as the issue here very likely can't happen with 0.2.17. Feel free to open a separate bug for your issue, please attach a traceback to it then. Thanks. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 751822 *** |
