Description Paul 2011-11-06 02:52:37 UTC
Description of problem:
k3d's "report a bug" bring up KDE Bug Tracking System which says "Log into Bugzilla" yet it won't accept my username and/or passwd

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
I am running release 2.6.35.14-100.fc14.x86_64 and k3b 2.0.2

I have no idea how to get the version info for the page I am getting in Firefox to log into Bugzilla ... apologies. I am assuming latest release but could be wrong.

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open k3b
2. Help->ReportBug
3. That pops up Firefox with "Log in to Bugzilla"
4. Type username and passwd and get a big red message of "The username or password you entered is not valid
5. Prove that it is not a problem with my account by accessing bugzilla.redhat.com on my WinXP box and logging it to make this bug report

Actual results:
See above

Expected results:
Given the content of the KDE Bug Tracking System, it sure looks like it wants me to log into Bugzilla and not some special "other bug reporting system".

I am prepared to be told it is a pilot error and learn from such, but I sure can't make sense out of it from a user pov

Additional info:
Let me know if there is an additional info I can provide ... thanks, Paul

KDE's Bug Tracking system ( https://bugs.kde.org/ ) is separate from Red Hat Bugzilla ( https://bugzilla.redhat.com/ ).

If you which to report bugs on KDE's Bug Tracking System, you will need to create an account with them. If you are having problems logging into KDE's Bugzilla, you will need to contact them, as Red Hat do not maintain their Bugzilla system.

Simon:

Thank you for the quick reply. Given that there is an option on this Bugzilla to report problems with k3d, it seems a bit confusing that there are two separate bug tracking systems --- even though I noticed different http addresses I assumed it pointed to the same place.

But that is an issue for me to take up with them .. and probably for me to be corrected on my assumptions (smile)
