Description Jens Petersen 2011-11-07 04:28:47 UTC
Description of problem:
After suspending a Fedora 16 x86_64 instance
on a Lenovo Thinkpad T520s, resume fails to
bring the machine back up.

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Boot up F16 install and Live image.
2. Select Suspend or log into Gnome and suspend (close lid, etc)
3. Try to resume machine.

Actual results:
2. seems to suspend normally
3. Machine doesn't fully power up -
goes into a resume loop (cycling between power up and standby).

Expected results:
3. Machine to re-power up and resume.

Additional info:
I have been using this new machine for a while as a F16 test machine
and I am pretty sure resume was working for some time during
the F16 development cycle - though when I tried F16 Beta it didn't
seem to provide Suspend UI at all...

Also tried F15 Live and it also didn't resume.
I hope this is not a hardware problem...

This problem might be common to all T[45]20* laptops
which support UEFI booting, etc.

What information can I give to provide more information?

Sorry - red herring - fixed by updating the BIOS from 1.26 to version 1.30.
