Description Brent Baude 2011-11-08 15:59:50 UTC
Description of problem:
The file /etc/sysconfig/kdump provided by kexec-tools contains two default entries that stop kdump from working properly on ppc64.

They are:

KDUMP_IMG="vmlinux"
KDUMP_IMG_EXT="kdump"

For ppc64, KDUMP_IMG should be "vmlinux" and KDUMP_IMG_EXT should be "" as we use the same kernel for both kdump and runtime.

It is my understanding that files loaded into /etc/sysconfig should work without tweaking and was asked to file this defect.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
kexec-tools-2.0.2-29.1.fc16.ppc64.rpm
