Can you get this happening every time? Seems like it's a crash in pulse. Can you manually 'pulseaudio -k' then 'pulseaudio -vvvv' and see if it dies or produces any error output? I disabled the HDMI audio sink and blacklisted the snd_hda_intel module for the "ATI Technologies Inc RV630/M76 audio device [Radeon HD 2600 Series]" which operates the monitor speakers. No problems thereafter. The snd_intel8x0 module controls the motherboard built-in audio, which is routed to a pair of analog speakers. I can live without the Radeon digital audio, never could get it to output sufficient volume to be heard on the operator side of my desk. Can I close this, or should I try to induce the crash by enabling the digital out? Pulse appears to have hosed this Firefox window, unresponsive to mouse or keyboard. The console says (firefox:9402): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_source_remove: assertion `tag > 0' failed After I killed pulse, firefox came back to life so I could write this last paragraph. Probably want to close 752136 as well. I'm playing either http://jazzknob.org or Classical Switzerland (http://glb-stream12.streamserver.ch/1/rsc_de/mp3_128) via an ssh session to the box with the audigy 2z, so I really don't need audio working on this cluster member. Thank you for your kind attention to this matter! Backtrace analysis found this bug to be similar to bug #707383, closing as duplicate.
