Actual results: Java packages installed in yum's add/remove repository and firefox are not in sync.

Expected results: firefox browser auto reconize java from yum's repository or yum allow firefox to reconize java as a add-on (in sync).

Additional info: video plays using firefox browser but no sound, seeking solution to no sound problem.

Installed java runtime emviroment for fedora with command: su -c "yum install java-1.7.0-openjdk"
at http://openjdk.java.net/install/ 93.4MB
Now unistalling from yum's add/remove software the older unreconisable 84.5MB version java-1.6.0-openjdk and java 84.5MB (then install matching java) in 1.7.0 runtime and java java-1.7.0-openjdk-devel package (if i can find it) with hopes they will get reconised by firefox and youtube.

I now have a new Fedora 16 Verne install and got sent here thru my e-mail because Firefox kept constantly crashing. Firefox said that I needed a new updated Firefox but the only Firefox downloads I ever view is Firefox.tar downloads and I can never get a TAR. to work. It downloads it then has archive manager set as default but it NEVER WORKS. The only thing that I have ever got to reconize and then my Flash Player will work with YouTube video's etc and other apps. is RPM, but I never view a Firefox.rpm download. Or do I just don't know how to work Archive Manager? Or where is a rpm download for 32 bit or/and some app to run it so it will work?

Ok, I now have the new firefox and uninstalled the other but it still keeps crashing.

Comment 7 Martin Stransky 2012-02-24 14:57:29 UTC
you need to install firefox by "yum install firefox". What says "rpm -q firefox"? Can you attach a bactrace of the crash? (see https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/StackTraces#Firefox)
