Description Susi Lehtola 2011-11-12 23:11:16 UTC
Description of problem:

It used to be possible to install wine without having pulseaudio. Now wine requires wine-pulseaudio, which in turn pulls in pulseaudio.

Since wine also works with other audio plugins (such as plain ALSA), you should drop the hard dependency on pulseaudio, or replace it with a soft dependency implemented by a dummy wine(audio) provided by wine-alsa, wine-pulseaudio etc.

If you do not want the pa subpackage to be installed just remove it together with the wine meta package.

Comment 2 Susi Lehtola 2011-11-13 22:07:10 UTC
Oh, I hadn't noticed that 'wine' is a meta package. Thanks.
