Description of problem: When the application kdenlive 0-8.1 starts there is an alert for fatal error because of MLT's SDL module.

I had the same problem with f15. 
It seems that kdenlive has a bad ghost in Fedora world.....

The MLT (http://download1.rpmfusion.org/free/fedora/releases/16/Everything/source/SRPMS/repoview/mlt.html) as well as kdeenlive are hosted in RPM Fusion project. You need to fill the report there (http://rpmfusion.org/ReportingBugs).
