Created attachment 533443 [details]
Video card spec.

Description of problem:
I have an computer that is about 5 years old with a graphics card XFX GeForce 6200 I think it has 64MB and my monitor is 1920x1200. I'm attaching a PDF of the video card spec.

I installed Fedora 16 and the login screen is just a black box (nothing printed). If I click the mouse in the black box a white entry box shows, I enter my username (nothing gets echoed) and then enter. The black box comes back (again nothing printed), I click with the mouse and get the white entry box again and enter the password (nothing echoes) and press enter. I then enter a screen that has blue columns with blue lines of various shades of blue. I can't even get to the screen to enable fallback mode.

Every thing worked fine on Fedora 14.

Seems there should be some way to disable the fancy graphics during the install to still allow older systems to work.

How reproducible:
Happens very time.

Additional info:
Attached graphics card spec.

This looks like a nouveau bug to me.

Can you please attach the information described in: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/How_to_debug_Xorg_problems ? Thanks!

This looks very much like another case of #745202, this is an NV44.
