Description Paul Gallagher 2002-10-07 21:21:37 UTC
Description of Problem:

GUI installation crapped out twice. System messages included one screen
which read that the ATAPI CD was 'busy' -- looked as if it was continuing
to poll the device, which wasn't responding. On another system message
screen (F6?), I found the following:

(anaconda:99): GnomeCanvas_CRITICAL**: file gnome-canvas-path-def.c: Line
1142 (gnome_canvas_path_def_any_closed): assertion `path!=NULL' failed

Have you checked your media following the instructions at
http://rhlinux.redhat.com/anaconda/mediacheck.html

Comment 2 Paul Gallagher 2002-10-07 23:07:18 UTC
Yes, I did a mediacheck on Disk 1, and no problems were reported.

As an addendum, the third installation was successful.

Comment 3 Jeremy Katz 2002-10-08 02:41:17 UTC
Guessing it was just a sporadic read failure, then.
