Description fred 2011-11-15 13:42:18 UTC
Description of problem:

Installation of impressive via yum requires gcj though pdftk, which is somewhat redundant with openjdk, and occasionnaly, third party programs detect gcj as the main jdk.

It would be great to remove the dependency to pdftk, mark it as optional, or use openjdk instead of gcj in pdftk.

Thank you for your input

Sure, no problem. Just implement optional requires for rpm (which alert the user about recommendations), and I'll make pdftk optional.

You are also welcome to port pdftk to openjdk, of course.

On a more serious side note: The pdftk requires was added on explicit request by the upstream author because impressive works much better with it, and users where wondering about missing features (without pdftk).
