can you try the kernel-debug build and see if you get a backtrace ? (make sure to try the 3.1.1 update too) Created attachment 533837 [details]
/var/log/messages while running kernel-debug-3.1.1
I have attached the /var/log/messages entries for the kernel-debug-3.1.1 session. I booted the laptop and, once it was completely *up*, I plugged in the ethernet cable, which activated eth0. Then I logged into the desktop and started Firefox. A few seconds later, the system locked up hard (no keyboard LEDs, no response to 'ping').
Tom, are you still seeing this with the 3.2.7 or newer kernel? I no longer see this problem with the 3.2.7 kernel. Do you know what fixed it? (In reply to comment #4) > I no longer see this problem with the 3.2.7 kernel. > > Do you know what fixed it? Honestly, no. There are a large number of changes in the kernel between major version releases and we often see issues get cleared up when we rebase. It's one of the major reasons we do that. Thank you for letting us know. |
