Description Pete MacKinnon 2011-11-16 22:16:37 UTC
Chapter 5. Jobs

"including restrictions on the type of execute nodes are able to run the job."

STRONGLY RECOMMEND changing to:

"including restrictions on the type of execute nodes that should be considered
to run the job."

5.1.3. Writing a submit description file

"* The files to use for keyboard and screen data"

RECOMMEND using:

"The files to use for standard input and output"

5.1.5. Monitoring job progress

"Jobs can be monitored in a number of different ways. To check the status of a
job using the command-line, use the condor_status command. Jobs can also be
queried using the condor_q command."

The condor_status utility provides onformation on machine resources and their
associated ClassAds. condor_q is specifically used to monitor job state (i.e.,
IDLE, RUNNING, etc.).

This MUST be changed to:

"Jobs are monitored using the condor_q command which provides the following
(default) information for each individual job:
* job id
* owner
* submission date
* execution duration
* state
* priority
* program size
* executable name
"
