How reproducible:
always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. install Fedora 16
2. boot Fedora 16
3.

Actual results:
Boot goes no further than grub console.

How DID you install Fedora?

What choices did you make? Did the installer respond in strange ways?

What hardware are you using? New or old or anything special?

note load from DVD works... ie not pointing at repository

note load from DVD point only to fedora/releases/16/Fedora/x86_64/os on the yum server it works...

The boot loader was apparently not installed correctly. Some anaconda logs can probably tell what happened. Do you still see this issue? (I guess not ...) Or can you reproduce it with f17 beta?

You are correct Mads.
I had installed F16 with the "Custom" Option. Under the "Custom" Option F16's Anaconda does not do the GPT partition formatting for the user. I had to learn enough GPT to size and format the partition properly. My install booted once I learned GPT enough to apply it to the new boot partition.

The Fedora community is to be commended for its constant improvements and innovations. In the past I have lost sight of that, and I would sometimes get frustrated with updates and new installs. Fedora is making much progress, and I thank you and your team for all that you do.
