I think that this is problem with underlying device size (pvresize just read size from kernel). Will scsi rescan help? Something like echo "- - -" > /sys/class/scsi_host/host$host/scan Can you paste "lsblk -b" when you see this? Ah, I this is multipath... this can help perhaps. echo 1 > /sys/block/device_name/device/rescan multipathd -k'resize map <mpath>' http://docs.redhat.com/docs/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/6/html/DM_Multipath/MPIO_admin-troubleshoot.html#online_device_resize just instead of resizefs use pvresize.
