It's more difficult than it seems, because this behaviour would make hibernation malfunctioning in many cases. We are now changing the behaviour to set swap size same as the RAM size. Hope this will be better usable for VMs. Taking 25% is better than 50%, but still really bad. Are you using swapfiles too though (if you do it's then easy to fix it post install). This message is a reminder that Fedora 16 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 16. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '16'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 16's end of life. Description of problem: If I create/install a VM for Fedora 16, and allocate 2GB of RAM and 8GB of disk space to it then I actually get an almost full 4GB system disk, as anaconda is allocating 4GB to the swap partition. I think it would be useful to do the following: If the disk size is < 100 GB ... 1. Allocate no more than 5% of the disk to swap. 2. Use a swapfile instead of a swap partition.
