This message is a reminder that Fedora 16 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 16. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '16'. Created attachment 537425 [details] Patch to correct reference to location of i8kmon configuration file. Description of problem: The man page for i8kmon suggests that the systemwide configuration file for i8kmon is /etc/default/i8kmon and in other places /etc/i8kmon. The correct filename is /etc/i8kmon.conf (according to /usr/bin/i8kmon itself). This is particularly a problem for anyone upgrading from the previous Fedora version of i8kutils, since i8kutils-1.25-18 did indeed use /etc/i8kmon. As a consequence, after upgrading to the latest version, the old configuration settings are no longer used, and the man page doesn't help find out what is wrong. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): i8kutils-1.33-1.fc16.i686 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. man i8kmon and compare what it says to /usr/bin/i8kmon 2. 3. Actual results: Confusion. Expected results: Sanity. Additional info: The attached patch can be added to the i8kutils.spec file and corrects the references to configuration file location in the i8kmon man page. It does not alter the reference to /etc/default/i8kmon for Debian systems, since I don't know what they do.
