Description of problem:
Windows 7 guest. 
When running qemu without an audio device, and trying to play a movie using vlc,
the host cpu usage is 100%, and the video play is v-e-r-y slow.
After disabling the audio track (via vlc menu), the cpu usage is < 50% and the video is viewable.
Windows media player works fine.
When starting qemu with an audio device there is no problem.
Tried it with and without spice and qxl - same problem.

My command line:
qemu-system-x86_64 -drive file=/images/win7_rhel6.qcow2 -m 1024 -enable-kvm -net tap,ifname=WINXP2,script=/local/scripts/lan-ifup -net nic,macaddr=00:1a:4a:01:00:e0,model=virtio -device virtio-serial -snapshot -no-shutdown -chardev spicevmc,id=vdagent,debug=0,name=vdagent -device virtserialport,chardev=vdagent,name=com.redhat.spice.0

Not sure why this has "Component" set to "pytz" (was this a misclick?); reassigning "Component" to "qemu-kvm".

Could it be a VLC issue?
Which audio device have you used?
