Description Amar Tumballi 2009-07-11 20:41:21 UTC
at the moment, users of glusterfs doesn't have a mechanism to get the location of a given file (in a clustered mode). It is not so hard to provide this feature through 'getxattr' call.

PATCH: http://patches.gluster.com/patch/772 in master (posix getxattr supports new key 'trusted.glusterfs.location')

Now, in master branch, with getxattr key ( 'glusterfs.trusted.location' ), we can get the hostname of the file from a mountpoint.
