By default, trace forces the log-level to be set to NORMAL. This is not always helpful, especially when one wants to get the trace output as well as debug messages from other translators.

The enhancement proposed is to have an option that switches off the forcing of log-level to NORMAL and let the default or command line log-level to be used.
