Description Csaba Henk 2010-10-09 21:15:25 UTC
Albeit the parsing routine of server.c:validate_auth_options() copes with what may come through DVM created instances as of now, it cannot be called theoretically correct.

I actually faced this fact when tried to use a volume name with "." in it, for auxiliary purposes. While the auth modules themselves are happy with the dotty volname, validate_auth_options() could not make sense of it.

I propose therefore a more exact and simpler version (which handles "." :O).

PATCH: http://patches.gluster.com/patch/5412 in master (server: parse more precisely when validating auth options)

Please update the status of this bug as its been more than 6months since its filed (bug id < 2000)

Please resolve it with proper resolution if its not valid anymore. If its still valid and not critical, move it to 'enhancement' severity.
