I met a similar issue as this one. Would you kindly help to check it?
Here is the test steps:
1: Plug Q600 in PCI-E 16X slot and update VBIOS to 70.08.7C.00.01.
2: Connect power core then power on.
3: Press "F12" to choose boot from ODD with RHEL6.2 RC install CD in it.
4: Choose "Install or upgrade an existing system" to install RHEL6.2.
You can observe that system hang with some error messages.

Benchmark:
1: This symptom isn't observed with choose "Install system with basic video driver" to install RHEL6.2.
2: This symptom isn't observed with Q600 VBIOS:70.08.27.00.02.

Nvidia's feedback:
For RH 6 and newer you must install with the basic video driver.
RH is now using the nouveau driver for setup, rather than vesa.
Nouveau does not fully support our cards.
So for all RH installs you must use the basic (vesa) video driver.

NVIDIA's comment about why previous VBIOS has no this issue:
I suspect the Nouveau driver is not handling something in the VBIOS setup correctly.
You would need to ask RH about that.

Hi, has anyone had a chance to look at this.

Comment 6 Ben Skeggs 2012-01-04 09:48:59 UTC
The DMS59->DP not working is expected behaviour in RHEL 6.2. Nouveau does not have proper DisplayPort support in 6.2. This should be addressed in a later release.

The Q600 issue is likely unrelated and deserves a separate bug.

Comment 7 wayneh 2012-01-04 10:01:21 UTC
Hi Sir,
Thanks for the update, I will have a separate bug for the Quadro 600.

For the DMS59->DP issue, would you share with me about the update plan to fix this issue? Thanks.

This issue should be resolved in 6.3. Are you able to retest?
