Description Eva Kopalova 2011-12-15 17:20:34 UTC
Include instructions of running anacron and cron in foreground.

The cron daeamon can run in foreground in case it's used for debuging. But the original manual page is a little strange:
-n Tells the daemon to run in the foreground. This can be useful when starting it out of init.

I thought "starting out of init" means by init, so /etc/init.d/crond. It might be rephrased to run for debugging in foreground. Anacron is usual binary and doesn't have possibility to run in foreground or background.

The manual page should be probably changed to mention systemd specifics. Since F-15 is used systemd, which works differently with daemons. Systemd runs a daemon in foreground, so it's executed according to setting in:
/lib/systemd/system/crond.service
It's executed with -n option.

Thank you very much for taking the time to file this RFE, I'll see what I can do.
