Description of problem:
In trying to use preupgrade to upgrade from F15 to F16 the boot sequence stops at the line: 
"Switching to clocksource tsc"
I encountered the same problem with the 2.6.41 series of kernels in F15:

How reproducible:
Every time. 

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Do preupgrade
2. Reboot 

  
Actual results:
Booting fails

Expected results:
Upgrade

Additional info:
Hardware is Lenovo Thinkpad T510 with Nvidia graphics

F16 and F15 are on the same major kernel version.  (3.1 == 2.6.41).
