Description of problem:
currently all metacity windows are opened in the top left corner of the screen,
and i've to continually move the windows to the center of the screen. please add
an option to open windows always at the  center of the screen. thanks.

The placement algorithm has been improved somewhat in recent versions (built in
Rawhide today), but there are no plans to make it configurable.
