Description of problem:

In case this is not intentional for legal reasons, USRP firmwares are not included in the uhd package.

These firmwares are open source _and_ distributed under the GPLv3, *but* requires proprietary tools to build them (Altera Quartus, Xilinx ISE) or toolchain that is not available as fedora package (zpu-gcc).

These firmware images are provided by Ettus at the url (for 3.3.1):
http://files.ettus.com/uhd_releases/003_003_001/images-only/UHD-images-003.003.001.tar.gz

and should be installed in /usr/share/uhd/images/

The UHD driver automatically upload the firmware for USB USRPs.

Tested with uhd-3.3.1-1.fc16.x86_64 (from updates-testing)

How reproducible:
(test requires a USB USRP)
Execute a program using the uhd driver, for example: uhd_usrp_probe

Package uhd-3.4.2-2.fc17:
* should fix your issue,
* was pushed to the Fedora 17 testing repository,
* should be available at your local mirror within two days.
Update it with:
# su -c 'yum update --enablerepo=updates-testing uhd-3.4.2-2.fc17'
as soon as you are able to.
