Description avi.w.levy 2011-12-22 11:05:38 UTC
Description of problem:
No progress bar during "Clean up" phase of installation.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
anaconda-16.25-1.fc16 (32-bit)

How reproducible:
Every time

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Preupgrade from fc-15 to fc-16
2. Reboot
3. Watch GUI after package upgrade has completed

Actual results:
There is no progress meter during the "Clean up" phase. The "Upgrade" phase runs through a similar list of packages while displaying progress. The "Clean up" phase reports the package being cleaned up without giving a progress indication. The progress bar remains on screen at one notch below completion throughout the "Clean up" phase.

Expected results:
A progress meter to display the percent completion of the "Clean up" phase.

Additional info:
These seem to be related bugs. I am unsure how related they are; should this bug be merged with one of them?

We are redesigning the UI for F18 and leaving F17's UI mostly as is.

Are you taking suggestions on the new UI for F18? If so, where is this discussion taking place?

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Anaconda/UX_Redesign is a good starting place. Discussion is also on the anaconda-devel-list mailinglist.
