Comment 1 Florian Höch 2012-04-04 14:02:44 UTC
I can confirm the bug on Fedora 16 with Argyll CMS 1.3.6-1.fc16

Comment 2 Mahlon 2012-04-04 16:59:32 UTC
A workaround until this is fixed is to run dispwin with '-vI'. For some reason, the flags in that specific order allow the profile to be installed.

Comment 3 Florian Höch 2012-05-17 14:36:24 UTC
There is no option '-vI'. Using '-vI' is interpreted the same as '-v' (verbose mode).

Comment 4 Andrea Oliveri 2012-09-05 11:20:16 UTC
I confirm the bug under Fedora 17 with Thinkpad T430 and Lenovo ICM profile.

Comment 5 Fedora Admin XMLRPC Client 2012-10-24 13:57:24 UTC
This package has changed ownership in the Fedora Package Database. Reassigning to the new owner of this component.

Comment 6 tosca 2012-11-08 21:52:38 UTC
Same problem here with Fedora 17 and trying to create an ICC profile with dispcalGUI. After all the work of caracterisation/calibration has been done, it ended with the following message:

Dispwin: Error - Failed to install profile 'W2361 2012-11-07 max D5000 min natif 2.2 HQ 3xCurve+MTX.icc'!
About to open dispwin object on the display
About to clear the calibration
About to install 'W2361 2012-11-07 max D5000 min natif 2.2 HQ 3xCurve+MTX.icc' as display's default profile
... échec !

I hadn't had this problem last time I used dispcalGUI, a few months ago.
Any workaround?

Comment 7 Fedora End Of Life 2013-01-16 13:45:44 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora 16 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 16. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora
'version' of '16'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 16's end of life.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we may not be able to fix it before Fedora 16 is end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged to click on
"Clone This Bug" and open it against that version of Fedora.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

The process we are following is described here:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping

Comment 8 Fedora End Of Life 2013-02-13 14:39:00 UTC
Fedora 16 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2013-02-12. Fedora 16 is
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of
Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.

Comment 9 tosca 2013-05-13 21:23:52 UTC
The bug has been closed because Fedora 16 was no longer maintained. But several among us had mentioned the issue in Fedora 17 too: see comments 4 and 6, and the problem still exists and I'm still looking for a way to calibrate my screens.

Could you reopen that bug, or shall open a new one?
