Description of problem:
After updating to gnome-settings-daemon-3.3.3.1-1.fc17.i686 and rebooting I was not getting a background image, nor was my theme being set. I use forced fallback mode, but I don't know if that had any affect.
I downgraded back to gnome-settings-daemon-3.3.2-1.fc17.i686 and restarted the daemon without logging out (I had a build running for a while already and didn't want to start over, so I didn't logout.) and the theme changed immediately, but my background stayed black.

I confirmed that downgrading gnome-settings-daemon also fixed display of the background image both in gdm and when logged in.

3.3.3.1-2.fc17 appears to fix this issue.
