Thanks for the bug report.

Can you describe how to reproduce this?

From looking at the code a minimal testcase would be:
"from IPython.frontend.qt.console.qtconsoleapp import IPythonQtConsoleApp"

That works here fine.

Running "ipython qtconsole" works here too...

So what did you do, to get the crash?

When upgrading on f18 and up, the package structure has now changed, so ipython-gui is also installed when installing plain "ipython"...

For f17 and older, one needs to manually install ipython-gui.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Will be fixed in NEXTRELEASE. Please reopen or file a new bug, if the problem is still there on f18 and up.
