Description Mephisto 2011-12-30 19:09:02 UTC
When using Easytag on Ubuntu I noticed it has a few more features, and one of them I really need: the option to always write genres as text instead of number, since numbered genres don't work everywhere, including my phone. Apparently they are using a git snapshot from earlier this year. Could you please update easytag with a more recent version? I don't expect an official release soon...
Thanks :)

Sorry for the late reply. I removed the old email address I was using here from my mail client as I thought I was no longer using it ;)

I installed Fedora 17 today, along with this package, and I just re-tagged a big bunch of mp3's to update the genre field with a text genres, and found no problems at all. I'm happy to see that they finally made a new release since my last bug report and that the new features are working correctly :)

I found a problem with this update. The feature I wanted most (write text genres) works fine in itself, but the setting to turn this on does not get saved when exiting the program. Since it defaults to off (why...?), I have to remember to turn this on every time I use it, or my mp3's will be incorrectly tagged.
Can you please correct this?
Thanks in advance.
