Combinations of 3 vowels with letters

Description of problem:

The gap between vowel signs ('ে', 'া', 'ি') and letters when in combination is more than actual. The vowel sign 'ে' always sits a bit more towards left. Same is the problem with 'া' and 'ি'.

The gap should be reduced. The gaps become more prominent and the join appears broken when letters are bold.

I am attaching documents containing the in general combinations of letters with 'ে', 'া' and 'ি' both in regular and bold for reference.

Comparison with other Assamese font

I just gone through Govt. released font and distance between matra and consonant is even more than Lohit Assamese.

Distance is specifically beneficial for small point size like 12. At that size it looks good.

Let me know if you have any specific reference (Text book/article or other widely used font), else we can close this bug.

Hi Pravin,

I went through some Assamese ebooks and epapers and found that gaps between characters and vowels in the used font is almost same as that of lohit-assamese.
The gaps look more at a bigger font size but for size 12 they are necessary as you said earlier. This issue was raised to me by one of my community members with a older version of lohit-assamese in Windows OS. I think that might have been a rendering issue. In present scenario, the gaps in lohit-assamese font looks fine to me and as such I feel this bug can be closed.

Regards,
Nilamdyuti
