Description Harald Reindl 2012-01-05 01:29:35 UTC
why in the world introducing updates the installation
of devel-packages?

yum remove mod_perl-devel-2.0.5-1.fc15.x86_64
would remove "mod_perl" and all it's dependencies

yum remove httpd-devel
would remove "mod_perl" and all it's dependencies

yum remove apr-util-devel
would remove "httpd-devel" what is normally not a problem
but with the cross-dependency -> see above
___________________________

all few months there are introduced unneeded devel-dependencies
with updates which will be fixed sometimes later, but that
causes everytime work to try what of them you can remove currently

i would suggest here more care to the maintainers
normally a installation should not need a single devel-package

Is this duplicate of bug #748362 resolved in F16?

Comment 2 Harald Reindl 2012-02-10 11:20:00 UTC
looks like

but why does it not get fixed for F15 which is not EOL and where it was introduced a short time ago?

Comment 3 Petr Pisar 2012-02-10 12:12:07 UTC
No idea, I'm not the maintainer.
