How reproducible:run screensaver on say a 2 minute cycle


Steps to Reproduce:
1.install Fedora 16 from scratch
2.run screensaver with several windows open...use activities screensaver icon/window

On opening an error message states xscreensaver daemon is running ...stop to allows xscreensaver to run properly

Then (not always) another message says "problem with $PATH or permissions when starting 

I had to manually reset the session to continue (used the computer reset button on the tower

Sorry, however I fail to understand what is happening here. Can you explain your issue more in detail?

* Is the version "5.5-3" correct?
* What does "run screensaver with several windows open" "use activities 
  screensaver icon/window" mean?
  - What did you actually do (like executing commands on the terminal
    or doing some GUI procedure like "click this icon") 
    to "run screensaver" ? (and what does this "screensaver" mean ?)
    Also what "several windows" did you open?
  - What "screensaver icon/window" do you refer to here?

* When "what application" you open the error message arises? And would you
  write the actual error messages?

* What commands actually did you do to "stop" to allow xscreensaver to
  run properly?

* What application shows "problem with...." messages and when?
